September 04 2001:
The day my life changed forever. I was at the working out at the gym which I did four times a week and I passed out. I went to the hospital and the doctors gave me a MRI an found out that I had a huge leaking brain stem aneurysm it took the doctors two weeks to figure out how to operate on me. It was a success and I would have a 100% recovery. But two weeks later I stroked out and it paralysed my right side. I also have double vision and a lot of balance problems. For the first few weeks I could not eat and the hospital had a feeding tube up my nose. That fell out and the nurse tried to put it back in. Being on blood thinners I started to bleed till my heart stopped. The hospital got me stabilized and four months later I finally went to rehab for one month. Six months and I finally went home.
Having a brain stem injury I was lucky and had no cognitive deficits. But I have a lot of balance problems. Every day is hard on me because of my balance..I am not back to work but that is my goal I was a designer for GM and I worked on the computer reading the stories on the different strokes web site gives me determination to go on.
