Hi, My name is Bronya, I had a stroke in 1993 when I was 22.
I had three small children at the time. I will tell you what I can remember.
I had felt great all day, and then I got a slight headache, which gradually got worse. My head felt like it was on fire and I had to pour cold water over it, till the burning stopped. I sat down for a while, then my head went really cold, so I got a warm towel and wrapped it round my head. I just thought it was a bad migraine and went to lay down.
Around 4 in the morning I woke up and wanted to use the bathroom, and woke my partner, Lee and told him, he said 'then go', so I laughed and said I was.
He switched the light on and sat me up but I kept falling on my left side. Then he said 'something's wrong with your face', 'I think you've had a stroke or something'.
He took me to the hospital where they confirmed I'd had a mini stroke. I woke up after three days and couldn't remember anything and couldn't walk or use my left side.
I was only in hospital for two weeks, once I could walk they sent me home. I got full use of my left side back and had a baby in 1995.
The only thing I suffer with is bad memory, which is why my story isn't descriptive and short.
Thanks to Bronya for sending in her profile. Anyone else who would like to share their story can send it along with a photograph (if you're not shy!)
