Volunteer

The Head Office in Milton Keynes has a variety of opportunities, for example in general administration and book keeping. At the moment there are also vacancies for younger stroke survivors to answer calls to the StrokeLine. Training is provided and we pay your expenses. Any regular commitment from half a day a week upwards is welcome. Email volunteering@differentstrokes.co.uk

All Different Strokes exercise groups are organised by volunteers. If you can help run your local group or if you would like to start a group in your area, email lorraine@differentstrokes.co.uk

Recycle

Different Strokes can turn your old mobile phones or printer cartridges into money to continue to provide services for younger stroke survivors. Email info@differentstrokes.co.uk or call 0845 1307172 with your postal address and we'll send you a freepost envelope.
Why not ask other people to do the same? You could put a notice up at work, or email everyone you know.

Give Money

Different Strokes is entirely dependent on voluntary contributions, and so every donation is greatly appreciated. You can donate to Different Strokes in a variety of ways.

You can donate now using a credit or debit card.

You can text and donate either £1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10 by simply texting DIFF33 followed by the amount you want to donate to 70070, for example: DIFF33 £5

Fundraising

There are many ways in which you can raise money for Different Strokes. Here are some examples:

• Would you like to raise money for us every time you surf the internet? Go to www.everyclick.co.uk and make Different Strokes your chosen charity.
• Persuade your local businesses or schools to adopt us as a chosen charity.
• Take part in an event:
  • A run - 5K, 10K, half marathon - let us know your preferred distance and we’ll do our best to find you an event
  • Do a Skydive! This can be from a plane or at the Airkix wind tunnels in Milton Keynes and opening in Manchester early in 2010
  • Do a trek in Costa Rica, Peru, the Sahara, China or Nepal
  • Take part in the London to Paris Cycle Ride
• Organise your own event!
  • A cake stall
  • A quiz evening
  • An art sale
  • Hold a raffle
  • Organise a concert like the one recently held at Bush Hall in London.
