A Message from our Patron, Julie Christie

Stroke doesn't just happen to older people. More than 10,000 people a year of working age in the U.K suffer a stroke and have to deal with the, sometimes devastating, consequences to mind and body. Different Strokes has grown in membership to over 5,000 in less than 5 years, the majority of members being stroke survivors themselves. The practical help and advice provided will ensure that support for the organisation will grow ever stronger over the coming year, inspiring younger stroke survivors to overcome the many difficulties they face I am proud to be associated with this much needed self-help project.
