I had my stroke six years and recognise many of the problems that you describe. As far as I know a further stroke is not inevitable, if you are in danger of problems in the future, your doctor can prescribe blood thinning medication to avoid further blood clots forming. I suggest that you raise any concerns with your doctor and ask for advice on things like diet and lifestyle which can be major factors.
