one of our fellow ervice users at Headway has multiple Seizures but he does mess around with his med, ie never takes the prescribed dossage.
to date he has never said what meds he is taking for his Seizures which is not a problem if he wants to keep that to himself but i have talked to him and told him that if he stopped playing around with his meds and took them as prescribedit may just control things better for him.
obviously it quite distressing for not just himself but also for all of the other service users that witness his Seizures.
my father used to have Seizures when he was alive but he took his meds as prescribed and they were controled very well, he would go for months without having a Seizure unfortunately he did like a drink in fact lots of drinks and would not take his meds if he ws going out for a sessionat the pub this would result in him having a Seizure.
his condition was caused by an head injury during WW11 he was a Royal Marine Commando and usually operated behind enemy lines his group were responsible for destroying enemy machine gun posts silently.
he used to say these were hit and run one of the group would man the machine gun so that the enemy had no idea that they were there obviously the gun would be fired so that no one was hit.
regards
Mike Palmer
